APC salutes Nigerian workers, says Tinubu committed to their welfare

The All Progressives Congress (APC), has assured that the President Bola Tinubu-led administration remained resolute in its commitment to improving welfare of Nigerian workers.
Mr Felix Morka, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, gave the assurance in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja, while celebrating with Nigerian workers on the 2024 International Workers Day.
The APC spokesman lauded the resilience, sacrifices, diligence and patriotism of Nigerian workers and celebrated their invaluable contributions to the building and sustenance of the country’s economic life.
He said Nigerian workers deserved the best quality of life the country could offer, which in turn secured our collective aspirations for total and sustainable economic growth and transformation.
“Delightedly, the President Tinubu-led administration remains resolute in its commitment to improving the welfare of Nigerian workers.
“Aside the delisting of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) from the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS).
“Wage awards for a number of months, negotiations are in top gear to approving a new living minimum wage for Nigerian workers.
“The far-reaching transformative economic policies of the administration are intended to expand economic opportunities and benefits for workers and Nigerians in general.
“As we celebrate, we implore our workers to stand fast and continue to support and collaborate with the APC-led administration,” Morka said.
This, he added, was especially as the administration continued to build a more virile and prosperous country for the present and future generations of Nigerians.
The International Workers Day which falls on May 1 annually is observed to celebrate workers’ rights. It is also an opportunity to air economic grievances or political demands.
The theme for the 2024 International Workers Day is: “Ensuring Safety and Health at Work in a Changing Climate”.
