A repentant Niger Delta militant, High Chef Sobomabo Jackrich aka Egberipapa, was yesterday allegedly abducted in Rivers State with two people murdered in his country home
The abduction, which occurred at about 3am on Monday has left many wondering why men in military uniform stormed his house, after he came in from Abuja, barely a day after.
This was revealed exclusively to The Hensard Times by the President, Niger Delta Activists Forum, Comrade Success Jack.
According to Comrade Jack, “At about 3am on Monday morning, High Chief Sobomabo Jackrich was abducted from his house in his country home, Osoku in Degema local government area of Rivers State
” Men in military uniforms came, shot sporadically and killed two people in his house the process and others with bullet wounds”.
Jack further said: “The uniformed men left with the two dead bodies and High Chief Sobomabo. Upon further investigation, I am being told by persons who alleged that the police in Rivers State Police Command said that, ‘it was an arrest and not an abduction'”.
For the Chairman, Ijaw Community Abuja/ Northern Nigeria. 2020-2022, “This has left us in more questions than answers. How do come to arrest someone when he was never invited and disobeyed such invitation?
” Assuming and not conceding that he was invited, do you go and arrest someoand start killing people you find in his residence? “
“Was there an exchange or any resistant that warranted the shoot out?! These are the questions that are begging for an answer. And I believe civil society and military relations should be maintained.
“I am calling for the immediate release of the High Chief, so that things like this does not behito give wrong impressions in the region.”
Efforts to speak with the Rivers State Police Command met a brickwall as the PPRO ‘s was not reachable, as at press time. We are still making efforts to get in touch and hear from the Police and get their own side of the story.
