Toru-Angiama community appeals to Delta govt to intervene in Patani Phase 2 road

The people of Toru-Angiama community in Patani Local Government Area of Delta, have appealed to the State Government , Senatorial District, local government council, and relevant stakeholder to intervene in the abandoned Patani Phase II road project in the State.
The Patani Phase II project which is linking Toru Apelebiri, Toru Angiama, Uduophor and other neighbouring communities, has been abandoned for some decades after contacts have been awarded with signed post erected .
HRM, Frank Ayakoroma, paramount ruler of the Community, Mr Oyinkepreye Okubokekeme the Community Development Chairman (CDC), Mrs Victoria Tonroro the Community woman leader and Comrade Reuben Bripin, the Youth president, made the call in an interview with newsmen in Toru-Angiama.
The community said that the abandonment of this road project has majorly affected the livelihood of the community, saying it has hindered the inter-commercial activities between Toru-Angiama community and it’s neighbouring.
They noted that the abandonment of the project has also affected fishing farming and cash crop farming which is the main source of income of the community.
They also noted that construction of the road would not only boost their commercial activities, but would also attract development to the community as well as attract investors.
