Super Falcons soar to 3-0 win over Tunisia in WAFCON opener

The Super Falcons of Nigeria on Sunday secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Tunisia in their opening match of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) at the Stade Larbi Zaouli in Casablanca, Morocco.
Asisat Oshoala headed in a well-delivered free kick from Rinsola Babajide in the 3rd minute to give Nigeria the lead.
Babajide scored the second goal in the 45th minute, beating the Tunisian goalkeeper with a precise shot and paying tribute to the late Diogo Jota with a trademark celebration.
Chinwendu Ihezuo sealed the win with a composed left-footed finish in the 80th minute, finding the bottom corner of the net.
The Super Falcons are aiming to lift a record-extending 10th WAFCON title, determined to go all the way after a semi-final exit in 2022.
The team showed resilience and determination, creating chances throughout the match and ultimately securing a convincing victory.
