Fubara appeals to Rivers residents to back Tinubu, promises inclusive development

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers, has called on residents of the state to support President Bola Tinubu, emphasising that close cooperation between the federal and state governments would accelerate development and bring tangible benefits to the people.
The governor made the appeal on Thursday during the inauguration of the 12-kilometre Egbeda–Omerelu road, which links communities in Emohua and Ikwerre Local Government Areas.
Describing the project as a fulfillment of earlier promises, Fubara reiterated his administration’s dedication to improving infrastructure across the state.
Governor Fubara stressed that his administration is willing to collaborate with all groups and stakeholders that are committed to the President’s re-election.
He argued that political stability at the national level is essential for meaningful development in Rivers State. “Our people stand to gain when the state and federal governments work hand in hand,” he said.
He also highlighted past efforts, noting that several other road projects inaugurated last year have had a visible impact on local communities, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to delivering on its pledges.
Fubara reiterated that no community in Rivers State would be neglected, whether urban or rural.
He emphasised that public project inaugurations are not only symbolic but also serve to build public confidence and transparency in governance.
“Openly commissioning projects allows our citizens to see that government promises are being translated into real action,” the governor said, adding that these initiatives help counter misinformation and build trust at a time of heightened political tensions.
Fubara also urged residents to maintain peace and work collectively toward progress, pointing out that development cannot thrive in an atmosphere of conflict.
Despite political pressures, he said, his administration remains focused on enhancing the welfare of the people and delivering the dividends of democracy.
He further assured that additional projects would soon be unveiled across the state as part of a broader strategy to ensure equitable development.
“Our administration is determined to make sure that all parts of Rivers State benefit from government initiatives,” he added.
