Turkish Airlines, Air Peace sign interline deal

Turkish Airlines and Nigerian carrier Air Peace have entered into a bilateral interline agreement designed to improve air travel connectivity between Nigeria, West and Central Africa, Türkiye, and destinations across the global aviation network.

The agreement enables passengers of both airlines to travel on a single ticket across selected routes.

It also introduced coordinated flight schedules and streamlined baggage handling, aimed at making international and regional travel more seamless and convenient.

Under the new arrangement, passengers flying with Turkish Airlines into Lagos would be able to connect easily to Air Peace’s domestic and regional routes across Nigeria and West Africa.

In the same way, Air Peace customers would now gain access to Turkish Airlines’ extensive international network through Istanbul, a key global transit hub linking Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.

The partnership is expected to significantly expand travel options between Nigeria and Türkiye while also contributing to broader economic benefits.

Aviation stakeholders said it could boost trade flows, strengthen tourism links, and deepen economic integration between the regions.

Speaking on the development, Dr. Özlem Özyön of Turkish Airlines said the collaboration reflects the airline’s ongoing strategy to deepen its presence in Africa by combining its global network strength with strong regional partnerships.

On its part, Air Peace’s Chief Commercial Officer, Nowel Ngala, described the agreement as an important step in enhancing Nigeria’s position as an aviation hub.

He noted that the deal offers passengers greater flexibility, reduced travel complexity, and access to a wider range of destinations.

Turkish Airlines, which operates widebody aircraft on its Lagos route, is known for its premium onboard services and extensive global connectivity.

Meanwhile, Air Peace continues to expand its fleet and grow its network across Africa and selected international routes.

Tickets under the interline agreement are already available through both airlines’ official booking platforms as well as accredited travel agents.
