Guwor urges APC unity after primaries

The Speaker of the Delta House of Assembly, Dennis Guwor, has congratulated winners of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primaries, describing their emergence as a clear reflection of the confidence reposed in them by party members at the grassroots.
Guwor praised the leadership of the APC for organising what he termed a peaceful, transparent and credible exercise across the state, noting that the conduct of party faithful in the 10 federal constituencies demonstrated discipline, maturity and commitment to the ideals of the ruling party.
The Speaker, in a statement issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, shortly after the direct primaries, said the outcome of the exercise further confirmed that the APC in Delta remained united, formidable and responsive to the wishes of its members.
While congratulating candidates who secured the party’s tickets, Guwor also commended aspirants who did not emerge victorious for maintaining civility throughout the contest and for focusing on issues rather than personal attacks.
He urged the successful candidates to regard their victories as a call to greater responsibility and immediately commence grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The task ahead is to engage the electorate on the APC’s track record and the party’s vision for Delta State and Nigeria.
”I charge all our candidates to run issue-based campaigns, unite the party post-primaries, and work with our dear Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and party stakeholders at all levels to secure victory for the APC,” Guwor stated.
The Speaker also appealed to aggrieved aspirants and their supporters to embrace reconciliation and place the interest of the party above personal ambitions.
According to him, unity within the APC remains crucial to the party’s chances in the forthcoming elections.
“Party unity is very critical ahead of the general elections. A united APC is the surest path to a landslide victory for our party in Delta State.
“Our strength lies in speaking with one voice. Only a united APC can effectively present our track record and deliver the ‘Renewed Hope for MORE agenda’ to Deltans,” he added.
