Delta Dep. Gov. Onyeme urges community investment by indigenes

Delta Dep. Gov. Monday Onyeme, has appealed to affluent indigenes of the state to channel their resources into the development of their hometowns and communities.

He made the appeal on Saturday during the commissioning of the Jaden Eco Resort in Umuokpala Community, Afor, Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State.

The deputy governor stressed that government alone cannot shoulder the responsibility of developing every community.

He noted that private citizens and investors must also play active roles in driving growth at the grassroots.

”Everyone has a role to play in developing their community and the state, ” he said.

Onyema praised the Chief Executive Officer of the resort, Mr Masor Elvis, for returning home to invest, describing the gesture as a true reflection of the belief that charity begins at home.

“I commend the Chief Executive Officer of the resort, Mr Masor Elvis for remembering to come home and invest because charity begins at home.

“I sincerely thank you for remembering where you come from and coming to invest in your community.

“That is the way to go; people of Delta should emulate this example by investing in their communities as government alone cannot develop all the communities in our state.

“My prayer is that this resort will yield great profit and continue to grow; may it expand into several branches in our State, ” he said.

Earlier in his remarks, Elvis expressed appreciation to the state government for fostering a stable and supportive environment that encourages investment in the state.

He described the state as peaceful and welcoming to investors, adding that its security and stability would continue to attract businesses and promote long-term development.

He further noted that the positive climate in the state remained a key factor driving investor confidence and sustainable economic growth.
