Omo-Agege Begins NDC Party Rebuilding Drive In Delta

Former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, has reportedly begun efforts to rebuild and strengthen the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Delta State, starting with the Delta Central Senatorial District, according to political associates.

Supporters of the former lawmaker said Omo-Agege has the capacity to transform the party into a strong electoral force, citing his past political experience and organisational record.

“For the umpteenth time, I wish to reiterate that Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has the capacity to build and transform the NDC into a formidable, election winning national party,” a supporter said.

He added that Omo-Agege’s political achievements in the past remain evidence of his organisational strength.
“The records are there for all to see,” he said.

The supporter also recalled the early struggles of the opposition party structure, alleging that it was once underestimated and ridiculed before gaining wider acceptance.

He further claimed that despite political challenges, Omo-Agege remained committed and helped strengthen party structures that produced elected officials across different levels.

“He fought the state political structures and successfully produced two Senators, a House of Representatives member, and several House of Assembly members,” the statement added.

According to the account, the former deputy senate president has now moved politically and aligned with Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, with plans to reposition the NDC for broader electoral competitiveness.

“Obarisi, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege has been ordained and favoured by the Almighty God and men of good conscience,” the supporter said.

The statement further claimed that local party leaders in Delta Central, including chairmen across the eight local government areas, are already aligning with his political direction.

“No doubt, Obarisi can build a party from nothing into something. He did it with the APC, and he can absolutely do it again in NDC,” the supporter added.

It also suggested that a political alliance involving Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso and Omo-Agege could contribute to national development.

“Peter Obi, Musa Kwankwaso and Ovie Omo-Agege will make Nigeria and Delta State great again,” the statement concluded.
