ADC Chieftain Backs Ogoni Governor Bid for 2027 Rivers Race

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Joe Korka-Waadah, has urged the Board Chairman of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, Senator Magnus Abe, and other political stakeholders to support the emergence of an Ogoni-born governor in the 2027 elections in Rivers State.
Korka-Waadah made the appeal while speaking in Port Harcourt, arguing that the Ogoni people and wider Rivers communities deserve greater inclusion in the state’s political leadership.
He criticised what he described as prolonged political marginalisation, saying promises of strategic inclusion have not translated into meaningful representation.
The ADC chieftain also praised the growing support for the party’s governorship aspirant, Dr. Gabriel Pidomson, describing it as a reflection of grassroots political momentum.
He urged stakeholders to back what he called a “new political direction” in Rivers State, insisting that the time had come for fresh leadership rather than extended political planning cycles.
