PANDEF Hails Dickson, Backs NDC Growth

The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has praised Senator Seriake Dickson for his role in establishing the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), describing the political platform as a leading national movement and one of the fastest-growing parties in the country.
The commendation was made during a courtesy visit by a PANDEF delegation led by its National Chairman, Ambassador Dr. Boladei Igali, to Senator Dickson, who serves as the National Leader of the NDC, at his Abuja residence.
Speaking during the meeting, Ambassador Igali congratulated the former Bayelsa State governor for what he described as the courage, foresight and commitment demonstrated in the formation and development of the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
According to him, the emergence of the NDC has enriched Nigeria’s democratic space by providing an alternative platform that continues to attract support and interest from citizens across the country.
He noted that PANDEF views the NDC as a major political movement with growing national acceptance and increasing relevance in Nigeria’s evolving political environment.
Ambassador Igali explained that the visit formed part of PANDEF’s ongoing consultations with political parties, political leaders and other critical stakeholders across the country.
He said the forum remains committed to engaging institutions and leaders on issues affecting the Niger Delta region as well as matters of national importance.
The PANDEF chairman disclosed that the organisation has already held discussions with several political parties and their leaderships as part of a wider consultation and advocacy process aimed at promoting national development.
He added that PANDEF would continue to contribute to initiatives and policies designed to strengthen peace, equity, development and sustainable progress in both the Niger Delta and the country at large.
Igali stressed the need for greater collaboration among political parties, regional bodies and national institutions in addressing Nigeria’s challenges and improving the welfare of citizens.
He also congratulated the National Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, members of the party’s National Working Committee and supporters across the country for their efforts in building the party and deepening democratic participation.
“We came to pay a courtesy call on His Excellency, Senator Seriake Dickson, the National Leader of the NDC, first to congratulate him as a son of the Niger Delta for having the courage to come up with a national movement, and also to discuss the activities of the party.
“PANDEF is engaging with leaders of various political parties on issues pertaining to the Niger Delta and the country at large.
”We had a very fruitful discussion, and we appreciate the fact that the NDC has become a leading national movement and perhaps the party of choice for many Nigerians today.
”We are particularly pleased that this is happening at a time when we are at the helm of affairs in PANDEF.
“We have met with a number of other party leaders; some have come to see us, while we have visited others. We will continue to make our contributions towards making Nigeria a better place.
“Once again, we congratulate His Excellency, Senator Dickson. We also congratulate the Chairman of the party, the national leadership, and the teeming members and supporters of the NDC from across the country. We wish them all the very best in the evolving democratic dispensation.”
The visit highlighted PANDEF’s commitment to maintaining constructive engagement with political institutions and leaders across Nigeria while continuing to advocate for the interests of the Niger Delta region.
Members of the PANDEF delegation included Hon. Bassey Nyong Ekefre, Deputy National Chairman of the forum, and Mrs. Ifeoma Onyeoma Agbomah, National Treasurer.
