Air Peace Secures Brazil Flight Approval

Nigeria’s leading carrier, flyairpeace.com, has received regulatory approval from Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to operate scheduled international flights to and from the South American nation, a development expected to strengthen air connectivity between both countries and accelerate the airline’s global expansion plans.

The approval represents a significant milestone for the airline as it continues its push into key international markets across multiple continents.

It also positions Air Peace closer to establishing a direct air link between Nigeria and Brazil, a route widely regarded as strategically important due to the historical, cultural and economic ties shared by both nations.

According to the authorisation issued under ANAC Ordinance No. 19.449/2026, the airline has been granted permission to operate scheduled passenger, cargo and mail services between Brazil and destinations within its growing international network.

The development comes at a time when Air Peace is pursuing an ambitious expansion strategy aimed at increasing its presence across Africa, Europe, North America, the Middle East, the Caribbean and South America.

As part of this drive, the airline has already applied for landing rights in Canada and the United States, targeting scheduled services to Toronto and New York City.

The carrier is also making arrangements to resume flights to Jeddah and Guangzhou.

In Europe, the airline is preparing to launch three weekly flights to Manchester, further extending its international reach and providing additional travel options for passengers.

Air Peace recently unveiled plans to expand its African network with new routes connecting Nigeria to Libreville, Conakry, Bamako and Douala.

Operations on these routes are scheduled to commence on August 1, reinforcing the airline’s position as one of Africa’s fastest-growing carriers.

Industry stakeholders believe the proposed Nigeria-Brazil route could transform travel between the two countries by eliminating lengthy transit times associated with current travel options.

At present, journeys between Nigeria and Brazil often involve multiple stopovers and can take close to two days to complete.

A direct service operated by Air Peace is expected to reduce travel time to approximately seven hours, creating a more convenient and efficient travel experience for passengers.

Beyond passenger movement, the route is anticipated to boost trade, tourism and investment flows between both countries.

Aviation experts also expect increased cargo activity, improved commercial relations and stronger people-to-people exchanges once direct flights commence.

Nigeria and Brazil share deep historical and cultural connections dating back centuries, with significant social and commercial interactions between both populations.

Direct air connectivity has long been considered a critical missing component in efforts to deepen bilateral relations and unlock greater economic opportunities.

Air Peace’s existing international network already spans several strategic destinations, including London and Barbados, alongside major West African cities such as Accra, Freetown, Dakar, Banjul, Monrovia and Abidjan.

The addition of Brazil to the airline’s destination portfolio underscores its determination to compete more aggressively on the international stage and position itself as a key player in intercontinental travel.

With several new routes under consideration and regulatory approvals gradually being secured, Air Peace appears poised to strengthen its role as a bridge connecting Africa with major global markets while advancing its long-term vision of becoming Africa’s preferred airline and a globally recognised aviation brand.
