APC Stakeholders Hail Bayelsa Unity Secretariat Launch

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State have commended Governor Douye Diri for the inauguration of a new ultra-modern party secretariat in Yenagoa, describing it as a “unity house” that will strengthen cohesion within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The governor officially commissioned the facility on Thursday and later hosted a stakeholders’ meeting at the newly completed complex.
APC State Chairman, Hon. Warman Ogoriba, described the structure as the best party secretariat in the country, saying it would enhance unity and improve the party’s chances in future elections.
Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, also praised the governor’s leadership, saying it had helped consolidate unity within the party in Bayelsa.
He expressed confidence that APC candidates in the state, particularly in Bayelsa West, would secure victory in 2027.
Similarly, the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, welcomed what he described as a “new united APC family” in the state, urging others outside the party to join.
Governor Diri described the new secretariat as a symbol of unity, saying it brings together stakeholders under one roof after years of division.
He commended party members who lost in the primaries but remained committed to the party, describing them as “heroes of the APC in Bayelsa.”
“Nobody should feel sidelined. The only winner is the APC,” Diri said.
The governor stressed the importance of loyalty, inclusion, and teamwork, adding that political positions should be used to empower people and not to oppress them.
He also assured members that his administration would continue to run an inclusive leadership style, where every stakeholder has a role to play.
Former Niger Delta Development Commission Managing Director, Chief Ndutimi Alaibe, also announced his return to the APC, expressing appreciation to Governor Diri for his leadership and development efforts in the state.
The ceremony was attended by top political figures including the deputy governor, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, former deputy governors, senators, and other party leaders.
Speakers at the event expressed optimism that the newly strengthened unity within the APC would position the party for success in the 2027 elections.
