France Deploys Rescue Team to Earthquake-Hit Venezuela

French President Emmanuel Macron has announced the immediate deployment of 85 rescue workers to assist earthquake-hit Venezuela.

The emergency team would support search, rescue, and debris clearance operations following the devastating twin earthquakes.

Macron made the announcement on Thursday through a post on X.

He said France was responding to requests made by the Venezuelan authorities after the disaster.

According to the French leader, the rescue mission will be carried out in partnership with European allies.

“France stands ready, together with its European partners, to provide assistance to the affected populations in response to the needs expressed by the Venezuelan authorities,” Macron said.

He added, “A team of 85 French rescuers specialised in search and debris clearance will be deployed immediately.”

The deployment comes as international support continues to grow for Venezuela following the deadly earthquakes.

The French rescue team is expected to strengthen ongoing emergency operations and humanitarian relief efforts in the affected communities.
