Landlords and residents of Alibioba Community in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, have declared their support for Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori ahead of the 2027 governorship election, citing his administration’s infrastructure projects and impact on their community.
The endorsement was announced during an enlarged bi-weekly meeting of the community’s Landlords Association, which comprises 10 quarters.
Chairman of the association, Mr. Anthony Osafiele, revealed that members have begun a grassroots sensitisation campaign, encouraging eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate actively in the 2027 election.
According to him, the community’s decision to support the governor is a show of appreciation for projects they say have transformed the area.
“Our decision to give him a bloc vote is one of the ways to say thank you for wiping away our tears.”
Osafiele said the governor’s intervention helped address the devastating flooding that once threatened homes in the community, giving residents renewed hope.
He also pointed to the ongoing Uromi Junction Flyover project as another landmark development that has strengthened the community’s confidence in the governor’s leadership.
“One good turn deserves another. Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori has shown us love.
”It is our turn to reciprocate by making sure we come out en masse to support him in 2027,” he said.
The association chairman added that members had resolved to vote based on performance rather than political party affiliation.
“For the governorship election, we won’t vote along party lines but for the individual.
”Our vote will go to the result-oriented Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, ” he added.
He maintained that the governor had delivered projects many residents once believed were impossible, insisting the community would rally behind him regardless of the political platform he contests under.
The meeting ended with members passing a unanimous vote of confidence in Governor Oborevwori, reaffirming their commitment to support his re-election bid in 2027.
