President Generals of communities across the Delta North Senatorial District have declared a vote of confidence in Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, pledging to mobilise their communities and work collectively in support of his success.
The declaration was made during a meeting of President Generals and community leaders from across the district, which provided a platform for extensive discussions on leadership, grassroots mobilisation, youth empowerment, political inclusion and the development challenges confronting the people.
The meeting was marked by strong expressions of solidarity, as well as candid conversations about the expectations of the communities and the need for sustained engagement between the leadership and the grassroots.
The community leaders emphasised that their people were not prepared to remain spectators in matters affecting their political and socio-economic future.

captured the significance of grassroots participation when he described the people as “certainly the hands in the game,” stressing that the communities have an important role to play in shaping the direction of the district.
He expressed gratitude to God for the lives of the leaders and acknowledged the support extended to the communities in the past, while appealing for even greater cooperation in the period ahead.
The leaders were also encouraged to return to their respective communities, engage their people and intensify grassroots sensitisation.
“Let us go to our nearest communities and sensitise them, ” he said.
The high point of the meeting was the presentation and adoption of a motion of confidence in Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.
The motion represented a strong statement of trust from the community leaders, who assured him of their readiness to work collectively and contribute to his success.
Presenting the motion, a representative told the gathering that the commitment of the communities went beyond mere words, assuring the leader of their unwavering support.
“We are moving a motion of vote of confidence in you, giving you our assurance, 100 per cent, that we will do all in our power to support your success, ” he said.
The motion was subsequently seconded and put to the gathering for approval, with the response being emphatic.
