Prof. Epiphany Azinge emerges 14th Asagba of Asaba

The Asagba-in-Council on Sunday announced his selection as the most qualified among the 10 contenders in the race who hail from Ugbomanta quarters of Asaba.
The Ugbomanta is expected to produce the next Asagba of Asaba after Prof. Chike Edozien, joined his ancestors as officially announced on Feb. 14, by the Asagba-in-Council.
The Ochendo Ahaba (Regent), Anthony Edozien, announced the result of the selection process in line with the Traditional Rulers and Chiefs Edict of 1979, applicable to Delta State, at the Asagba’s palace at Ezenei quarters, Asaba.
“Prof Epiphany Azinge, SAN, has been selected among 10 contenders after due process.
“He will be coronated in due course,” he said.
Azinge is a former Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies.
Other contenders, apart from Prof. Azinge, are Tony Konwea, Prof. Emmanuel Onwuka and Chief Chinedu Esealuka, among others.
