THISDAY transformed from local newspaper to international brand in 30 years, says Sanwo-Olu

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has hailed THISDAY’s remarkable journey from a local publication to an international media powerhouse.
Governor Sanwo-Olu during the Arise 30th anniversary celebration while receiving the Governor of the year award, just as he commended THISDAY for its remarkable evolution over the past 30 years, transforming from a local newspaper into a globally recognised media brand.
THISDAY has earned its place both locally and internationally.
His words: “THISDAY started on my street… 30 years ago we were all part of the history. Today, it’s not just a local but an international name and I want to congratulate you,” He said
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu dedicated the award to the over 25 million residents of Lagos, acknowledging their unwavering support for his administration.
He also expressed gratitude for their trust and encouragement, assuring them that his government remains committed to delivering impactful governance.
“We want to assure you that there’s a lot we still have to offer you,” he said, promising that the dividends of democracy and dedicated service would continue to benefit the people of Lagos.
Other governors who also received the Governor of the year award include Umo Eno, Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Uba Sani, Governor of Kaduna State and Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State.
