Ex-con arrested for attempted robbery in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested Olayinka Oluwaseyi, a former convict, for attempting to rob a male motorist on Mile 12 Bridge in the Ketu area.
According to Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin, the suspect was apprehended on Tuesday afternoon while armed with two knives.
The police statement revealed that Oluwaseyi had recently been released from a correction centre three months prior for committing the same crime.
The suspect is currently in police custody and will be arraigned upon conclusion of the investigation. However, one suspect involved in the attempted robbery is still at large, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend him.
“The other suspect involved in the attempted robbery is currently at large. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend him,” Hundeyin stated.
Commissioner of Police Olohundare Jimoh commended the officers involved, reiterating the Command’s stance against criminality, especially traffic robberies.
Jimoh assured residents of the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, saying, “The Lagos State Police Command remains committed to protecting lives and property across the state.”
He also urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements or individuals to the nearest police station.
The also assured that police would conclude their investigation and arraign the suspect accordingly.
The Command’s efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspect are ongoing.
