Sanwo-Olu meets with President Tinubu, dismisses rift rumors

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Largos, on Sunday met with President Bola Tinubu at his Bourdillon residence in Ikoyi, Lagos, amid rumors of a perceived rift between the two leaders.
The meeting, which included the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), aimed to clarify their relationship.
Sanwo-Olu met with President Tinubu alongside the GAC, the highest decision-making body of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos.
After the meeting, Sanwo-Olu dismissed rumors of a rift, describing Tinubu as his “father and leader.”
The meeting seemed to dissipate rumors of a crack in their relationship, showcasing unity between the governor and the President.
The meeting was attended by notable figures, including Sanwo-Olu’s deputy, Obafemi Hamzat; Mudashiru Obasa; and Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.
The meeting and Sanwo-Olu’s statement aim to clarify the relationship between the governor and the President, putting rumors to rest.
The President has been engaging with various dignitaries in Lagos, including traditional rulers and politicians, since his arrival on May 27.
