Ndokwa professionals network urges calm, dialogue over protests

The Ndokwa Professionals Network (NPN) has expressed deep concern on the ongoing protests in Ukwuani land, particularly in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government, over the persistent power outage in the oil-rich region.
In a press statement signed by Mr Nigel Ojji, President of NPN, and Mr Great Ijomah, General Secretary, the group acknowledged the frustration and grievances of the people, affirming their constitutional right to peaceful protest.
While urging protesters to maintain peace and avoid actions that could threaten security, NPN called on security agencies to ensure the safety of all peaceful protesters and hold accountable any personnel found violating their rights.
NPN implored government officials and relevant authorities to listen to the people’s demands and engage in genuine dialogue.
The group urged Independent Power Plant operators, Oil and Gas Companies, and other stakeholders to be proactive and transparent in their corporate social responsibilities and honuor existing commitments.
The group reiterated it’s commitment to fostering a peaceful path forward and stands ready to lend its expertise and networks to ensure the concerns of the people are addressed respectfully.
NPN emphasised the importance of empathy, integrity, and commitment to peace, prosperity and dignity of Ndokwa/Ukwuani land.
