The Music Elders Forum, led by Mr. Steve Black on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the Asagba of Asaba, Professor Epiphany Azinge SAN, at his palace.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Ambassador Ozo Nwobu, thanked the monarch for the warm reception and praised the rich cultural heritage of the Asaba community.Nwobu respectfully requested the Asagba’s support in becoming the Grand Patron of the Music Elders Forum, representing music elders in Nigeria and the diaspora.
He also thanked the traditional ruler and the palace chiefs for the opportunity, audience and conveyed prayers for progress and the fulfillment of their aspirations.
Responding, the Asagba acknowledged the contributions of past songwriters and musicians, commending their wisdom and ability to create timeless music that has withstood the test of time.
He accepted the role of Grand Patron, citing his love for good music and commitment to preserving cultural traditions.
“As a lover of good music, I am pleased to accept the role of Grand Patron of the Music Elders Forum,” he said.
The Asagba expressed gratitude to Nwobu for respecting the cultural protocols of the Asaba people and reaffirmed his dedication to preserving these traditions.
