Benue Attack: Suspects arrested at Nasarawa-Benue border

The Benue State joint security services have announced the arrest of suspects linked to the recent Yelwata attack, where several people were killed.
The Commissioner of Police in Benue State, Emenari Ifeanyi, announced the arrest at a press briefing on Sunday,  but didn’t disclose the identity of the suspects.
Ifeanyi said the arrest would not have been possible without Governor Hyacinth Alia’s support.
Ifeanyi also said that the deployment from IGP Kayode Egbetokun have all arrived in Benue and have been posted to rural communities to ensure effective policing.
He urged landlords and hotel owners to profile their tenants and clients to avoid the presence of terror in Benue.
The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has deployed additional personnel to Benue State to ensure effective policing in rural communities.
The attack on Yelwata community in Guma Local Government Area resulted in many deaths and displacements.
President Bola Tinubu had ordered the arrest of those behind the attack, urging security agencies to keep their ears to the ground and gather tangible intelligence to prevent future occurrences.
