Trump compares U.S. strikes on Iran to Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings

U.S. President, Donald Trump, has compared the recent U.S. airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear sites to the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II.
Trump stated that the strikes “ended the war” between Israel and Iran, saying, “I don’t want to use an example of Hiroshima, I don’t want to use an example of Nagasaki, but that was essentially the same thing that ended that war.
This ended that with the war. If we didn’t take that out, they would still be fighting right now”.
The U.S. strikes targeted three Iranian nuclear sites in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan, following Israel’s large-scale operation against Iran’s secret military nuclear program. Iran retaliated with Operation
“True Promise III”, hitting military targets inside Israel. A ceasefire between Israel and Iran was reportedly agreed upon, with Trump claiming credit for brokering the deal.

Trump’s comparison to Hiroshima and Nagasaki has sparked international reaction, with some questioning the extent of the damage caused by the US strikes.
