Senate confirms new leadership for South-South Devt Commission

The Senate has confirmed the nomination of Chibudom Nwuche as Chairman of the South-South Development Commission (SSDC) Board and Usoro Akpabio, daughter of the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, as Managing Director.
Sixteen others were also confirmed as board members.
The confirmation followed the consideration and adoption of the report of the Committee on SSDC at plenary on Thursday in Abuja.
The committee chairman, Senator Kenbowei Friday, presented the report, saying that the nominees have sound academic qualifications, work experiences, competencies, and integrity required for the positions.
The confirmed board members include: Larry Odey (Cross River), Charles Zuofa (Bayelsa), Dr. Nkereuwem Ebong (Akwa Ibom), Chika Chinedu (Rivers), Femi Oise (Edo), Dr. Charles Enukhowhate (Delta), Tabitha Iliya Sallah (North-East), Yusuf Rasaq Amao (North-Central), Joseph Mmamal (South-East), Mr. Bukonola Braimoh (South-West)
The Senate also confirmed the following executive directors: Marcus Nie Eji (Projects), Aganaba Preye Steven (Social and Human Capital Development), Dr. Timi Ayibatonye (Corporate Services), Joseph Ugheoke (Commercial and Environmental Development), Sony Abang (Finance)
