NAPTIP declared Speed Darlington wanted

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has declared Nigerian rapper Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, wanted for alleged offenses including rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.
This declaration followed Speed Darlington’s failure to honour multiple summons for questioning regarding a viral Instagram Live video where he claimed to have had sex with a 15-year-old girl ¹.
Speed Darlington’s claim of having sex with a minor has sparked national outrage and condemnation from rights activists and the public.
The rapper’s online activities have raised concerns about his behavior and potential harm to others
NAPTIP initiated an investigation after the Lagos State Government formally reported the matter, following widespread outrage over the video.
The agency issued a summons to Speed Darlington on May 28, 2025, requiring him to appear at its headquarters in Abuja.
However, he failed to appear on the scheduled dates and proposed alternative dates were rejected by NAPTIP.
The rapper has denied any wrongdoing, claiming the video was a joke and a promotional stunt for his new single, “Village Girl”.
He apologised for any misunderstanding caused but maintained that he would never engage in activities that contravene his responsibilities as a role model.
The agency has declared Speed Darlington wanted and is working with sister agencies, including the Nigerian Immigration Service, to ensure his appearance to answer the allegations.
Anyone with credible information on his whereabouts is urged to contact NAPTIP immediately
