U.S. President Donald Trump escalated his feud with Elon Musk

U.S. President,  Donald Trump, and Elon Musk, the world’s richest person, are embroiled in a heated exchange.
Trump targeted Musk on social media, criticising the amount of government subsidies Musk’s companies receive.
“Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far,” Trump said, suggesting that without these subsidies, Musk would likely have to shut down his businesses.
Trump claimed that Musk’s companies benefit excessively from government subsidies, implying that this support is crucial to their survival.
Musk fired back, criticising Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which would extend tax cuts at a cost of $4.5 trillion and increase border security.
Musk argued that this bill would lead to “debt slavery” and accused Republicans of hypocrisy on fiscal issues.
The bill has sparked division among Republicans, particularly those facing 2026 midterm elections, due to its potential impact on healthcare for low-income Americans and adding $3 trillion to the national debt.
Musk emphasised the importance of fiscal responsibility, questioning the logic of repeatedly raising the debt ceiling.
Musk has vowed to launch a new political party to challenge lawmakers who support fiscally irresponsible bills, claiming 80 per cent of people would support such a party.
