President Tinubu visits Kano to condole with Dantata family

President Bola Tinubu is visiting Kano State today, Friday, July 18, 2025, on a condolence mission to pay respects to the family and legacy of the late Alhaji Aminu Dantata, a renowned elder statesman, business mogul, and philanthropist who passed away on June 28, 2025, at the age of 94.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, in Kano on Thursday.
He said the visit is a show of national unity and respect for the people of Kano and the legacy of the late industrialist, highlighting President Tinubu’s commitment to honouring Nigeria’s elder statesmen and their contributions to national development.
Tinubu is expected to meet privately with members of the Dantata family to extend his personal sympathies and pay a condolence visit to the Kano State Government, expressing heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Federal Government to the people of the state.
Comprehensive security and logistical arrangements have been put in place to ensure a smooth and dignified visit.
Governor Abba Yusuf called on residents to welcome President Tinubu warmly and in an orderly manner, upholding the state’s tradition of hospitality and respect for leaders.
The governor described the visit as a powerful symbol of national unity and a tribute to the enduring legacy of the late Dantata.
The late Dantata was a highly respected figure in Nigerian business and political circles, known for his philanthropy, entrepreneurship, and national service, leaving a lasting impact across Nigeria.
When news of Alhaji Dantata’s death broke, President Tinubu, who was out of the country at the time, directed a ministerial delegation led by the Minister of Defence to represent him at the burial in Saudi Arabia.
