NGO to restore widows dignity, ignite hope on youths

A non-governmental organisation,  Genesis Mirror Humanitarian Foundation (GMHF), has said it aims to restore dignity, hope, and opportunities to widows, youths, and vulnerable populations, in Delta Senatorial District of Delta State.

This was disclosed on Saturday,  July 19, 2025, during the formal launch of the NGO in Asaba, by the National Coordinator, Princess Nneka Orisafele (Ugegbe Anioma), who said GMHF is aimed at targeted humanitarian interventions, has been unveiled.
The event qhichbhad dignitaries in attendance, had 120 widows from across the nine local government areas of Delta north, who received wrappers, blouses, bags of rice, vegetable oil and lita more supports from the NGO.
Princess Orisafele also said they are out to serve as a mirror of compassion, empowerment, and transformation for communities in need, and promote peacebuilding, economic development, and educational access in underserved areas.
According to Orisafele,  “GMHF is out to inspire positive societal change through advocacy, skills development, and sustainable programs.
“Our objectives include widow empowerment activities; support widows through welfare packages, skills training, small-scale business grants, and psycho-social care and youth and women fevelopment,”, she added.
The lady better known as ,Ugegbe Anioma, further said, “Our goals also includes equipping youths and women with vocational, digital, and entrepreneurial skills for self-reliance and job creation, while our education support includes sponsorship of the education of indigent children and orphans through scholarships, school supplies, and mentorship.
“Other areas of our objectives are Health and Wellbeing, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Community Development, with Advocacy and Awareness, Partnership and Collaboration:”, she added.
She said they are ready to collaborate with government agencies, international organizations, NGOs, and corporate bodies to expand humanitarian reach; and  provide rapid response and support to victims of disasters, displacement, or crisis situations.
And to implement community-led, long-term programs that reduce poverty, build resilience, and foster development.
Highlight of the event was the unveiling of coordinators in the nine local governments that make up the Delta North Senatorial District.
They are Chidi Edward, Ika North East, Emmanuel Lootobi, Oshimili North, Kukaye Wisdom, Ndokwa West and Obiche Tony in charge of Aniocha South
Others are Kelvin Okafor, Oshimili North, Christian Ugbo, Ndokwa East, Comr.Humble k.c Ochei who doubles as youth leader from Aniocha North, Comr.Akazue Henry, Ika South LGA and Mrs Florence Ogadima of Ukwani LGA.
