Amanyanabo takes center stage in London

Acclaimed Nigerian-Irish actress and filmmaker Ibinabo Fiberesima is set to premiere her new historical drama film, Amanyanabo: The Eagle King, in London this August.
The premiere has been scheduled to take place on Friday, 29 August 2025, at Odeon Greenwich, with additional cultural venues under consideration.
The multiple awards winning actress in a statement made available to HensardTimes stated this event is supported by members of the UK African cultural community and aims to foster cultural exchange, promote underrepresented narratives, and inspire dialogue through film.
According to her, “This powerful feature film tells the story of an Ijaw monarch who chooses humility over hostility in a time of conflict, highlighting values of peace, resilience, and leadership.
“The event is expected to draw significant attention from the African diaspora, film enthusiasts, and advocates of diversity in cinema”, she added.
Amanyanabo: The Eagle King will feature a red-carpet reception, film screening, and an interactive Q&A session with Ibinabo Fiberesima, offering audiences a chance to explore the cultural and historical foundations of the story.
Her words: “I am excited to bring this story to London and share a part of our heritage through the lens of powerful storytelling,” says Fiberesima.
“This film is not just about the past, but about timeless lessons for leadership, identity, and unity”, she enthused.
