K1 De Ultimate placed on no-fly list after airport incident

Aviation Minister, Festus Keyamo has condemned the unruly behaviour of Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, at the Abuja airport.
Keyamo said the act of blocking a moving aircraft by the singer was unacceptable and reprehensible.
The incident occurred on August 5, 2025, when Ayinde attempted to board a ValueJet flight to Lagos but was prevented from doing so due to aviation security regulations.
He allegedly had a flask containing alcohol, which he refused to surrender, and instead spilled it on an aviation staffer during a fit of rage.
Ayinde’s actions were deemed unacceptable and reprehensible by Minister Keyamo, particularly his attempt to block a moving aircraft from taxiing on the runway.
Keyamo has directed the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to place Ayinde on a no-fly list pending further investigation.
”Any airline that allows Ayinde to fly risks having its operating license withdrawn, ” he said.
The NCAA has suspended two ValueJet pilots involved in the incident for unsafe behaviour and has written to the Attorney General of the Federation and the Inspector General of Police to initiate legal proceedings against Ayinde.
Keyamo emphasised that the decision to ban Ayinde underscored the zero-tolerance policy of both the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and NCAA towards acts of aggression, non-compliance, or disruption within the aviation environment.
Keyamo questioned the NCAA’s sense of justice in only acting against the pilots and not Ayinde, stressing that both parties breached safety protocols.
