IGP appoints CSP Benjamin Hundeyin as new police force spokesman

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has appointed Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Benjamin Hundeyin, as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) of the Nigeria Police Force.
CSP Hundeyin took over from Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who has been redeployed to the Delta State Police Command following his recent promotion.
Hundeyin’s appointment was contained in a statement by the outgoing spokesman of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Muyiwa Adejobi.
“The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, NPM, Ph.D., has approved the appointment of CSP Benjamin Hundeyin as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO),” the statement read in part.
CSP Benjamin Hundeyin is a seasoned police officer with extensive experience in public relations and security.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language from Lagos State University and a Master’s degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.
Hundeyin has served in various capacities, including Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 2 Command, Lagos.
He demonstrated exceptional communication skills and crisis management expertise in this role.
He utilised his administrative skills to support the department’s operations.
He gained valuable experience in international peacekeeping and civil-military cooperation.
He effectively managed media relations and promoted community policing initiatives.
The Inspector-General of Police has charged Hundeyin to leverage his communications and security experience to bolster the Force’s Public Relations activities and ensure continuous positive relations with the public.
With his appointment, stakeholders expect improved information dissemination, enhanced media relations, and strengthened public trust in policing activities nationwide.
Hundeyin is an associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and an associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).
