Supporters gather at Port Harcourt Airport to welcome Gov. Fubara

A large crowd of supporters has converged at the VIP wing of the Port Harcourt International Airport, Rivers State, awaiting the arrival of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
An anonymous sources confirmed on Friday that the governor, who has been away from the state, waa expected to arrive soon.
President Bola Tinubu announced the end of the six-month emergency rule in Rivers State on Wednesday, following a political crisis involving Fubara, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, and Speaker Martin Amaewhule.
The crisis led to the suspension of Fubara, his deputy Ngozi Odu, and state lawmakers for six months.
Hundreds of supporters gathered at the airport, eagerly waiting for Fubara’s arrival, despite his absence at the Government House on Thursday.
On Thursday, thousands of Rivers residents loyal to Fubara gathered around the government house in Port Harcourt, welcoming him back to his office.
With the governor’s expected arrival, stakeholders are watching for signs of what his return might mean for Rivers State’s future stability and governance.
The Rivers State House of Assembly had asked Fubara to forward the list of commissioner nominees for consideration, indicating a return to normal government business.
