Atiku accuses presidency of orchestrating disinformation campaign

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has accused the Presidency of orchestrating a disinformation campaign aimed at smearing him.
In a statement signed by his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, on Thursday, Atiku alleged that the Presidency has resorted to hiring “faceless mercenaries” to fabricate stories and release unauthorised press statements under his name.
Atiku’s office claimed the Presidency has hired individuals to spread false information about him.
A statement attributed to a self-styled “media consultant,” Kola Johnson, claimed an Atiku administration would be dominated by a single ethnic group.
The former Vice President’s office described this as “particularly offensive” and part of a calculated propaganda project.
Atiku’s office stressed that Atiku had never engaged Kola Johnson as a media consultant, aide, or associate, and any statement issued in his name is fake.
They further urged media houses that have published such falsehoods to immediately retract them.
Atiku’s office cautioned Nigerians, especially the media, to remain vigilant against the propaganda schemes of the Tinubu administration.
”Authentic communication from Atiku comes only through the Atiku Media Office, signed by Paul Ibe or AbdulRasheed Shehu.
”Editors and media gatekeepers are advised to verify with the AMO before publication, ” the statement said.
