Widows in Aniocha North Local Government Area of the State, have praised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his commitment to their welfare through the Widows Welfare Scheme.
The widows made the remarks on Thursday, during the continuation of the Widows Welfare Free Medical Health Scheme registration held at Issele-Uku, headquarters of the LGA.
The initiative is implemented through the office of Chief Isioma Okonta, Executive Assistant to the Governor on Social Investment Programmes, in collaboration with the Director-General of the Delta State Contributory Health Commission, Dr. Isaac Akpoveta.
The scheme, initiated by the governor, provides monthly stipends and free medical care to widows across the state’s 25 local government areas.
The scheme includes a free medical health scheme, with registration currently underway in various local government areas.
Beneficiaries receive monthly stipends to support their well-being.
The Executive Assistant to the Governor on Social Investment Programmes, Chief Isioma Okonta, commended Governor Oborevwori for his people-oriented leadership and commitment to the welfare of the poor and vulnerable.
The widows offered prayers for the governor, his family, and the state, asking for continued peace, progress, and divine protection.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the governor’s initiative, describing him as a promise keeper.
