Tinubu approves 2-year extension for Surveyor-General, AbuduGaniyu Adebomehin

President Bola Tinubu has approved a two-year extension of the tenure of the Surveyor-General of the Federation, Mr. AbuduGaniyu Adebomehin, the presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga announced in a statement on Wednesday.
The extension, effective from January 5, 2026, followed the recent transfer of the Office of the Surveyor-General of the Federation (OSGOF) to the Presidency.
Mr. Adebomehin has been driving reforms across critical sectors of geospatial data systems, which the President is eager to see through to completion.
According to the statement, President Tinubu expects Mr. Adebomehin to focus on consolidating reforms over the next two years, particularly in the areas of national land management and administration, coordination of highways and adjacent land infrastructure, reclamation and erosion control programmes and other issues of strategic national importance
Adebomehin was originally appointed Surveyor-General of the Federation by late President Muhammadu Buhari on January 5, 2022.
