President Bola Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to former Minister of Culture, Tourism and National Orientation, High Chief Edem Duke, on the occasion of his 70th birthday.

In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Chief Duke as “a patriot whose life has been defined by service to the nation, community development, and the promotion of Nigeria’s cultural heritage.”

President Tinubu commended the former minister’s long record of public service, citing his contributions at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) and his leadership roles as Minister of Culture, Tourism and National Orientation, as well as Supervising Minister of Information.

The statement also lauded Chief Duke’s “unwavering commitment to advancing Nigeria’s tourism industry,” noting his pioneering efforts in the conceptualisation and development of the Centenary City project in Abuja.

While felicitating with the Cross River-born statesman, President Tinubu wished him continued good health, happiness, and prosperity in the years ahead.

“On this milestone celebration, the President prays for Chief Duke’s strength and grace to continue contributing to national growth and the promotion of our shared values,” the statement added.
