DSS dismisses 115 operatives amid ongoing reform drive

The Department of State Services (DSS) has confirmed the dismissal of at least 115 operatives as part of an ongoing internal reorganisation initiative aimed at strengthening professionalism and accountability within the agency.
In a statement posted on its verified X handle on Tuesday, the intelligence agency explained that the personnel actions were undertaken gradually over a period, forming part of a broader strategy to ensure integrity and discipline among its ranks.
The DSS cautioned the public against engaging with some former operatives who may still be impersonating staff members.
The agency specifically referenced earlier warnings concerning individuals identified as Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, highlighting the risks posed by fraudsters claiming affiliation with the Service.
“As part of our ongoing reforms in the Department of State Services (DSS), the public is hereby informed that a total of 115 personnel have been dismissed over a period,” the statement read.
“Members of the public are advised to refrain from any official dealings with these former personnel.”
The service emphasised its commitment to upholding professional standards and reiterated that any staff member found guilty of misconduct would face stringent disciplinary action.
The DSS’s latest move underscores its resolve to maintain operational integrity while safeguarding the public from potential exploitation by impersonators.
