Delta families announce burial arrangements for late Chief Margaret Ojo Obianukor
The families of the late Chief Aghauno Dike of Amai and the late Okwa Ojo Obianukor of Umutu, both from Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State, have formally announced the funeral arrangements for their matriarch, Late Chief (Mrs.) Margaret Ojo Obianukor (née Aghauno), who passed away at the age of 96.
A statement signed by her eldest son and former member of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. (Dr.) Alphonsus Chukwutem Ojo, provided full details of the rites marking the final farewell of the esteemed nonagenarian.
According to the statement, the funeral program will begin on Friday, November 21, 2025, with a Service of Songs at 4:00 p.m., to be held at the family compound at No. 60 Igili Road, Umutu, Ukwuani LGA, Delta State.
The Funeral Service is scheduled for Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Umutu Mixed Secondary School, followed by interment at the family compound.
A grand reception for guests will be held immediately after at the same school premises.
A Thanksgiving Service in honour of the late matriarch will take place on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Umutu, while In-laws’ Greetings are scheduled for Monday, November 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the family compound.
Hon. Ojo, speaking on behalf of the family, expressed profound gratitude to friends, associates, and well-wishers for their prayers, support, and goodwill during the family’s period of mourning. He warmly invited all to join in celebrating the life of a remarkable woman.
Describing his late mother, Hon. Ojo said, “Chief (Mrs.) Margaret Ojo Obianukor was a devout Christian, a respected community leader, and a loving mother who dedicated her life to service, faith, and humanity.
Until her passing, she remained a beacon of humility and kindness, touching countless lives with her wisdom and compassion.
She lived gracefully and leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will forever endure in our hearts. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”
