Women of Substance unveils first-ever “sisters’ hangout

Women of Substance, the women-centered initiative founded by prominent media consultant Chief Ify Onyegbule (popularly known as Ada Di Ora Mma), is set to debut its inaugural “Sisters’ Hangout”, a curated lunch-hour dialogue designed to connect ambitious women from multiple professional fields.
Envisioned as a gathering powered entirely by women, the event aims to create a relaxed yet strategic space where participants can exchange ideas, learn from industry leaders, and build meaningful partnerships that support both personal and professional growth.
Organizers said the maiden edition would feature an impressive assembly of speakers drawn from media, business, technology, education, humanitarian work, data science, food services, and enterprise development.
Each guest is expected to bring practical insights shaped by years of expertise.
Petra Akinti Onyegbule, a corporate communications strategist renowned for her work in leadership messaging, would lead discussions on sustaining brand relevance in a crowded business environment.
Seasoned journalist and humanitarian Theresa Moses, who also serves as Chair of the Nigeria Online Media Alliance and heads the Pad Me A Girl Initiative, would detail the balancing act of steering a media enterprise while scaling a flourishing food-processing brand.
Food entrepreneur Anthonia Ojenagbon, founder of Silton African Kitchen, would focus on the complexities of catering for large events and the importance of maintaining excellence even under intense pressure.
For women exploring opportunities in technology, Chioma Iroabuchi, a digital transformation specialist in the fintech ecosystem, would outline basic entry points into tech-driven roles.
Broadcast journalist and community advocate Oluwatomisin Adebukola would shed light on the realities of leading impact projects in underserved communities.
Olayinka Mayaki-Yusuf, General Manager at Shipshape Cleaners Limited, would offer perspectives on the demanding but growing professional cleaning and facility-management sector.
Data scientist and girls’ education promoter Temitayo Adetoba is expected to walk participants through the role of data in contemporary business decisions and why data literacy has become indispensable.
Educator and relationship coach Cordy Nachi Opara would discuss how mothers could intentionally guide children with diverse personality types.
Veteran media figure Chief Yinka Kenny, celebrated for her commitment to gender inclusion in newsrooms, would spotlight the lived experiences of women working behind the microphone and in editorial leadership.
Estate surveyor and travel consultant Ijeoma Mark-Abii would break down myths surrounding the tourism industry and reveal the lesser-known challenges of travel management.
Author and humanitarian Anusiem D.O. (Nwachukwu Delphine Onyinye) would share success stories drawn from the Brisa Women Foundation’s empowerment programs.
Rounding off the lineup is UK-trained therapist Wemimo Adebiyi, who would speak on child mental health, school systems, and the role of healthy communication within families.
Beyond the speaker sessions, the event is positioned as a rallying point for women seeking to expand their networks and amplify their influence.
Organisers describe it as an opportunity for participants to discover potential collaborations, gain confidence in leadership spaces, and access a supportive community of peers.
Chief Onyegbule, the convener, emphasised the urgency of women taking charge of their personal and professional journeys.
“Women must step out, connect, network, and impact,” she said. “No one is coming to hand you opportunities, you must reach out and take them. This Hangout gives women the runway to do exactly that.”
The atmosphere is expected to blend intellectual engagement with shared experiences, mentorship-like conversations, and relationship-building moments that extend well beyond the event.
