Wife of Delta Governor advocates unity, prayer among royal mothers

The Wife of Delta Governor, Mrs
Tobore Oborevwori, has called on royal mothers across the state to deepen bonds of unity, support one another, and uphold fervent prayer for the prosperity of their kingdoms.

Mrs Oborevwori, also founder of the ”You Matter Charity Foundation, made the call on Saturday at an End-of-Year Banquet held in honour of the Wives of Traditional Rulers in the State.

The gathering, hosted at the Government House, Asaba, brought together queens from various kingdoms for an evening of fellowship, reflection, and celebration.

Mrs Oborevwori conveyed the goodwill of her husband, Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori.

She expressed joy at the opportunity to gather at the close of the year, describing the radiant appearance of the queens as a reflection of the peace and progress experienced across Delta communities.

“I thank God for granting us the privilege to celebrate the end of this year together.

“The beauty of today’s event is evident in how radiant and healthy everyone looks, a reflection of the peace and progress in our towns and kingdoms, ” she said.

Mrs Oborevwori commended the queens for their dedication and consistent communication with her office.

She noted that their updates and interactions aligned with the administration’s development-focused vision.

She encouraged them to freely share progress reports from their various communities during the banquet, which also featured bonding activities, fellowship, food, and tokens of appreciation.

Mrs Oborevwori, however urged the royal mothers to mobilise women in their communities to register for their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs).

She stressed that active political participation remains vital to amplifying women’s voices and shaping decisions that affect their daily lives.

In a solemn moment, Mrs paid tribute to three Queens who passed away during the year.

She offered her condolences to their families and kingdoms and called for a minute of silence in their honour.

“My deepest condolences go to their families and kingdoms. May their noble souls rest in perfect peace,” she said.

Mrs Oborevwori also encouraged the royal mothers to remain united, prayerful, and mutually supportive.

She reaffirmed that her office remains open to them and expressed optimism for continued collaboration in future engagements.

“I pray that your strength will not fail, your reign will be peaceful, and the Lord prospers the work of your hands,” she added, wishing them safe journeys home, a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.

Responding on behalf of the queens, Her Royal Majesty Queen Ofejiro Ogbogbo, wife of the traditional ruler of Ozoro Kingdom, delivered the closing remarks on behalf of the queens.

She described the banquet as an invaluable platform for royal mothers to step outside their domains and bond socially at the seat of state governance.

Queen Ogbogbo also assured the governor’s wife of their unwavering support for the administration of Gov. Oborevwori.
