Oborevwori celebrates chief Egukawhore at 60, applauds character, community contributions

Gôvernor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, led tributes on Sunday to Chief Victor Egukawhore, a respectable business leader and community advocate, as he marked his 60th birthday.

The celebration, held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Okpolo-Enhwe, Isoko South Local Government Area of the state, was framed as a thanksgiving service honouring Egukawhore’s life and legacy.

In his remarks, Oborevwori highlighted the celebrant’s unwavering character, dedication, and passion for community development.

He described reaching the age of 60 as a significant milestone that reflects God’s faithfulness and urged that the occasion be dedicated to giving thanks to God.

The governor noted that Chief Egukawhore had consistently displayed energy, purpose, and commitment to uplifting his people in Enhwe and other parts of Isoko and Patani.

“Success is not accidental, it is rooted in divine favour, strong values, and respect for one’s roots.

”Chief Egukawhore has remained faithful to his people and consistently invested in community development,” he said.

He prayed for continued health, protection, and blessings for the celebrant and his family, encouraging him to remain steadfast in recognising God as the source of wisdom and opportunity.

Bishop Rt. Rev. John Aruakpor of the Anglican Diocese of Oleh delivered the homily, drawing from Psalm 139:14–18.

He emphasised that life is “fearfully and wonderfully made” and fully known to God even before birth.

The Bishop highlighted that survival, achievement, and progress are products of divine providence rather than luck or human effort alone.

He stressed that life is a stewardship intended for service to others and encouraged both the celebrant and the congregation to live purposefully, with gratitude, humility, and a commitment to community service.

Bishop Aruakpor also praised Governor Oborevwori for his governance, citing tangible infrastructure improvements across Delta State.

He asserted that effective leadership and visible performance negate the need for political campaigning and urged citizens to engage constructively with government initiatives.

Chief Egukawhore, in his remarks, reflected on a life enriched by enduring friendships, meaningful relationships, and acts of service.

He credited his accomplishments and happiness to God’s faithfulness and reaffirmed his lifelong commitment to service, noting that even at 60, he remained devoted to faith, purpose, and community development.

The service attracted a wide array of dignitaries, including the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dennis Guwor, prominent business figures such as Chief Johnbull Ejovi, Chief Eta Enahoro, Engr. Matthew Tonlagha, High Chief Tunde Smooth, Chief Broderick Arigbodi, and Chief Daniel Omoyibo, alongside traditional rulers and other notable personalities from the state.

The thanksgiving event celebrated not only Chief Egukawhore’s personal milestone but also his enduring impact on society, reaffirming a life devoted to faith, service, and community upliftment.
