Oborevwori adjusts cabinet portfolios …Names new members for DELSU governing council
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, has carried out a limited reorganisation of his cabinet, reassigning four commissioners to new portfolios in a move aimed at strengthening governance and improving sectoral performance.
The changes were made public through a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, on Wednesday who confirmed that the redeployments take effect immediately.
As part of the adjustments, Engr. Michael Anoka has been reassigned from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Renewal to oversee the Ministry of Energy.
In a related move, Hon. Sunday Tataobuzogwu now heads the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Renewal, having been transferred from the Ministry of Energy.
In the education sector, Mrs. Rose Ezewu has been moved from the Ministry of Secondary Education to the Ministry of Primary Education, while Dr. Kingsley Ashibuogwu has been redeployed from Primary Education to take charge of the Ministry of Secondary Education.
The minor reshuffle is seen as part of the governor’s continuous review of his team to ensure optimal performance and effective delivery of the administration’s development agenda.
In a separate but related development, Governor Oborevwori has also given approval for the appointment of three new members into the Governing Council of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka.
Those nominated are Rt. Hon. Festus Ovie Agas, Rt. Hon. Frank Enekorogha and legal practitioner, Mr. Charles Ajuyah, SAN.
The state government noted that details regarding the formal inauguration of the newly appointed council members would be made known at a later date.
