Paternity claims unnecessary, DNA tests show Anu not Davido’s daughter – Adeleke

Adedeji Adeleke, father of Afrobeats star Davido, has dismissed renewed paternity claims involving his son as unnecessary, insisting that multiple DNA tests have confirmed that 12-year-old Anuoluwapo is not Davido’s daughter.

Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Wednesday, Adeleke said five separate DNA tests had been conducted at different hospitals, all of which returned negative results.

He stressed that while his son could not be held responsible for a child that is not his, Anu still deserved to know her biological father.

According to him, Davido has never denied having children, but the results of the DNA tests clearly show that Anu is not his.

Despite this, Mr Adeleke said he personally supported the girl for years, paying her school fees and upkeep without informing his son.

“I did not discuss it with David or anybody,” he said, explaining that he stayed in contact with Anu’s aunt, who regularly sent receipts and evidence of expenses incurred on the child’s behalf.

He added that he handled her school fees until last year.

The long-running paternity dispute resurfaced earlier this month after Anu appealed on Instagram for a fresh DNA test, citing years of bullying, mockery, and emotional distress linked to claims that Davido is her father.

Davido has maintained that he is not the child’s father, reiterating that five DNA tests carried out at his father’s insistence for transparency all returned negative results.

A leaked chat allegedly linked to the singer also showed him threatening legal action if the matter was not dropped.

However, Anu’s mother, Ayotomide Labinjoh, has challenged those claims, alleging that only one DNA test was conducted in 2014 and that it was compromised at the clinic where it took place.

She has called for a fresh, independent DNA test to be supervised by the US Embassy or the US State Department, citing Davido’s American citizenship to ensure transparency.

The dispute continued to draw public attention as both sides maintain sharply differing accounts of the DNA testing process.
