Nigerian chef Hilda Baci becomes 3-time Guinness World Record holder

Nigerian culinary sensation Hilda Baci has cemented her place in history as a three-time Guinness World Record holder.
The celebrated chef, known for her passion for Nigerian cuisine, achieved the latest milestone by preparing the largest pot of jollof rice in the world, as well as the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.
Baci’s journey to global recognition began in 2023 when she broke the record for the longest solo cooking marathon, spending 93 hours and 11 minutes continuously in the kitchen.
Building on that achievement, she went on to create massive servings of jollof rice in 2025, breaking records with her enormous culinary feats.
The most recent accomplishment involved a staggering 8,780-kilogram pot of jollof rice, enough to serve more than 16,600 people.
While initially reported as a single record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, Guinness World Records later confirmed that the same effort also set a record for the largest serving of rice overall.
This dual recognition brought Baci’s total number of official Guinness World Records to three.
Reacting to the news, Baci described the achievement as both shocking and exhilarating.
She revealed that she only discovered the third record months after the initial announcement, a revelation that left her “completely caught off guard.”
She praised her team, particularly her close collaborator, for their dedication and effort, stating that the milestone would not have been possible without their hard work and alignment from concept to execution.
Expressing her gratitude, Baci acknowledged the support of Guinness World Records, her team, and her growing fanbase.
“This achievement is a reminder that even when you think you’ve reached the peak, there is always more to accomplish,” she said.
