Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi, has made history with her debut directorial project, Oversabi Aunty, which has crossed the N1 billion mark at the box office.
The achievement makes the film the first Nollywood directorial debut to hit the N1 billion milestone and the fourth highest-grossing Nollywood film of all time.
The milestone was confirmed by FilmOne Entertainment, the film’s distributor, which reported that Oversabi Aunty has generated N1,017,201,953 from cinema screenings across West Africa.
The film continues to show in Nigerian cinemas and select locations in the United Kingdom, with planned releases in the United States and Canada.

Oversabi Aunty marks Abraham’s first venture as a director on the big screen and has maintained strong audience attendance weeks after release.
The film’s commercial success reflects Nollywood’s expanding cinema culture, where locally produced films increasingly compete with international blockbusters for viewers and revenue.
With plans for North American screenings already underway, Oversabi Aunty is expected to extend its box office run, bringing Nigerian and African cinema to wider audiences in the United States and Canada.
