Oborevwori mourns death of Super Eagles Captain Ndidi’s father

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, has extended heartfelt condolences to Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi following the tragic death of his father, Sunday Ndidi, who died in a road accident in Umunede, Ika North East Local Government Area.

In a statement issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori described the passing as a sudden and deeply painful loss.

He noted that the tragedy affects not only the Ndidi family but also the wider Umunede community and the Ika Nation as a whole.

“Mr. Sunday Ndidi’s life left a mark on those around him, and while his passing is a blow to his family and community, we take comfort in his legacy,” the Governor said.

According to reports, the retired military officer was involved in a road accident on Tuesday and was rushed to a hospital in Agbor, where he was later pronounced dead.

The news has prompted an outpouring of sympathy from across the country, including from Ndidi’s club, Besiktas, which expressed sorrow over the incident and extended its condolences to the footballer and his family.

Oborevwori prayed for strength and resilience for the bereaved family during this difficult period, asking that God grant peace to the soul of the departed and comfort to those mourning him.
