Nicki Minaj declares support for Donald Trump initiative

Rapper Nicki Minaj has declared her support for United States President Donald Trump, describing herself as his strongest supporter and pledging to stand by him against sustained criticism.
Minaj made the remarks on Wednesday in Washington, D.C., while addressing guests at a U.S. Treasury-hosted event marking the forthcoming launch of a federal child investment scheme popularly referred to as “Trump accounts.”
During her speech, she defended the president against what she characterised as persistent attacks and misinformation.
According to the entertainer, criticism directed at President Trump has not weakened her support but has instead reinforced it.
She said efforts to discredit or “bully” the president would not succeed, adding that his supporters remained resolute and that she believed he enjoyed divine protection.
The event focused on the introduction of government-backed investment accounts designed to support children’s long-term financial security.
Under the pilot programme, the federal government is expected to provide an initial $1,000 investment for each eligible child born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028.
The initiative aims to promote early savings and financial inclusion through regulated investment vehicles.
In a move that marked a departure from her earlier stance, Minaj also announced her intention to financially support the programme. She disclosed plans to contribute between $150,000 and $300,000 toward the initiative.
In contrast, during the 2020 election cycle, the rapper had publicly stated she was unwilling to align herself with Trump.
Her comments and financial commitment are seen as a notable shift in her political posture and signal a growing alignment with the current administration.
Observers say Minaj’s involvement adds celebrity visibility to the investment scheme while reinforcing her emerging role as a vocal defender of the president and his policies.
