One year after, NNU lists achievements

The President-General of the Ndokwa Neku Union, Amechi Asugwuni, has reaffirmed the Union’s commitment to non-partisanship and constructive engagement with the media.
Asugwuni spoke during a meeting with members of the Ndokwa Media Professionals Forum, marking his first year in office.
The NNU leader, a former Deputy National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, stressed that the Union would remain independent in its operations.
He said the NNU would continue building institutional capacity to host impactful programmes for the development of Ndokwa nation.
Asugwuni urged journalists to embrace constructive journalism that promotes unity and development.
He cautioned against sensational or divisive reporting capable of undermining collective progress.
According to him, responsible journalism remains vital in shaping public perception and strengthening advocacy.
He assured media professionals of the Union’s readiness to support and collaborate with Ndokwa journalists.
Reviewing his one year in office, Asugwuni highlighted initiatives undertaken to reposition the Union.
He noted efforts to strengthen engagement with stakeholders and promote Ndokwa interests at various levels.
The NNU President-General also outlined proposals aimed at advancing development across Ndokwa communities.
He emphasised that unity and strategic communication would remain central to achieving the Union’s objectives.
The meeting provided an opportunity for dialogue between the Union’s leadership and media practitioners.
Participants discussed ways to deepen cooperation and project a positive image of Ndokwa nation.
The engagement formed part of activities marking the first anniversary of the current NNU executive.
