TikToker Mirabel in ICU, probe ongoing

The Ogun State Police Command says a TikToker identified as Mirabel is currently receiving treatment in an intensive care unit.
Police spokesman, Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this during an appearance on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Thursday.
He said officers made contact with the content creator after videos of her allegations went viral.
According to him, she was traced to the Ibafo area before investigators confirmed the incident occurred in Ogijo.
Babaseyi said the Divisional Police Officer in Ibafo met with her earlier this week.
She was subsequently taken to hospital for medical evaluation.
He noted that she was not stable at the time but assured that investigations were ongoing.
“As we speak, she is in the ICU receiving appropriate care,” he said.
The spokesman stressed that her health remains the immediate concern of the police.
The case has generated widespread debate on social media platforms.
Some online users have questioned the authenticity of her claims.
However, the police warned against drawing conclusions prematurely.
Babaseyi urged members of the public to allow investigators to establish facts through evidence.
He confirmed that invitations had been sent to certain individuals but declined further details.
The command dismissed claims that Mirabel had been arrested.
According to the spokesman, she reported the case and is being treated as a victim.
He added that anyone found culpable would be arrested and prosecuted.
If the allegations are proven false, he said the law also provides sanctions for false information.
The matter gained attention after Mirabel alleged she was assaulted by an intruder who forced entry into her residence.
